At First Works

Waiting for the bus.

In Providence.

Sidewalk Art

This one was done by a kid, it was my favorite.

Also done by a kid.

Real woman playing the part of a statue, Penelope is both thrilled and terrified.

Sharing kettle corn.

Penelope is ready to run.

Sleepy on the bus ride home.

We went to First Works this weekend. It was pretty amazing. Tons of artists doing their thing. The girls got to see ballet, which had Pen completely mesmerized, and hip hop dancers, which Vi described in her own words, saying "this is so amazing". There was street painting, some of which I thought was so amazing, and a full waterfire, plus so much more, but the most amazing thing of all was what we really went to see. Something called Bandaloop. A kind of vertical dance on the side of a building. Penelope and I had researched them online and learned a little about them beforehand. I've never seen anything like it, it was beautiful, magical, totally unbelievable. We lay in the street and watched them do their thing way up high. I could have watched them all night.
