The girl's got to learn about chickens and hold some baby chicks last week at the library. They came from a farm here in R.I. that raises heritage breeds. It was a great presentation, with a slide show, lots of questions and answers, and of course, the holding of live baby chicks. I loved the huge egg display that was set up. I never knew American Crow's eggs look just like marble, and Penelope was blown away to see the tiny jellybean sized hummingbird egg next to the giant black emu egg. There must have been over 40 different eggs there. Pretty amazing.
