With the wicked witch. It took her a long time to get up the courage to ask him for a photo because he was so wonderfully wicked in the show. She was so delighted to find out "He's really such a nice boy, isn't he Mama?".

Little Violet was a little scared of all the performers. She watched her sister make the rounds from the sides.

We went to see Circus Smirkus last night. This was something I have wanted to see for at least ten years, maybe more. Our homeschool group had greatly reduced tickets available months ago so we grabbed some as a birthday present for the girls. It was one of the best things I have ever seen. And there are no animals in this circus, which was quite the bonus. And now both girls are jumping off furniture and trying to do flips and discussing their future circus careers. Oh dear. The theme this year was The Wizard of Oz, in case you couldn't tell from the photos of Penelope with the cast. I was so completely amazed by the show that I never took any pictures during the performance, and wish I had now. But I think we'll definitely go again next year.
